In short, if the physics were more usable, the environment destructible, and I had a computer that was at least twice as fast, This would be one of my most favorite games ever, and time plus the game being open to modders can easily fix all of those. (aside from rigs of rods, but BeamNG is much more refined right now) Plus that answer's my personal question on why we may not have seen a game like this yet. I'd say anything more than a 4 car demo derby would be extremely difficult for anything less than a sandy bridge quad core.
I also think that soft-body damage on the environment would be an awesome next step, But seeing as spawing only 5 vehicles including my own will bring my cpu utilization to %70 (stock 2600k) and my fps to the 30's then I see a small chance of that happening. To me at least the driving model doesn't seem to like high speeds in its current state. If the physics get fixed/modded to be more practical then road racing would be loads of fun too.

Though I haven't tried any mods yet there does seem to be some fixes from the communities for this. The process is alleviated by the open-source Python interface for which we provide a variety of sensors (camera, Lidar, IMU, ultrasonic, and more) with support for ground truth (instance annotations and bounding boxes for camera data). The sedan and the sports car are extremely tail happy and the van is slow. BeamNG.tech provides a comprehensive simulated environment for data acquisition. The pickup and the hatch back are the only ones I can do anything useful with. To me the physics make some cars unplayable. If even that shouln't help, you might want to consider a refund.Alright, I've mucked about a little with the alpha now. But as long as you anyways can only spawn one car, these are not too bad disadvantages I think.
This will lower the CPU-usage of the car physics but also cause that the cars won't collide anymore with lose parts of itself and with other car or physical calculated objects you also can spawn and that are sometimes present in scenarios. If that is the case, you need to activate "disable internal collision" in the gamplay settings. If you should still get low FPS on a more CPU intensive maps, press J to see if the the FPS drastically go up while the physics simulation is paused. The game was initially released as a tech demo on 3 August 2013. Also mind that the Pigeon and the Ibishu Covette cause a relatively low CPU usage. When the download is over, you will find a file named BeamNG-Techdemo-v2.1.zip on your desktop (or download location). The game features soft-body physics, which simulates realistic handling and damage to vehicles. It's very unlikely that you can use the very CPU intensive cars, so the Bruckwell Moonhawn, the Hirochi Sunburst and the Gavril T-Series. You will have to live with pretty low graphics settings. Maybe (but still unlikely) on the grid maps, but certainly not on the larger ones with alot of vegetation. Last Record Update, 13 November 2015 23:01:41 UTC ( 6 years ago ). You will most likely not be able to spawn more than one car at a a time.
